The Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, JETRO Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly conducted the 16th Business Environment Survey from 2 to 15 February 2026.
The survey targeted a total of 568 companies, including HKJCCI regular members, members of the Hong Kong Japanese Restaurant Association, and members of the Hong Kong Wakyo Association, among others.
The purpose of this survey was to understand the business environment surrounding Japanese companies in Hong Kong—such as rising business costs, labour shortages, declining trade and logistics due to the economic slowdown, and the growing trend of trade flows bypassing Hong Kong—and to consider possible countermeasures.
